LR Upgrade
Light Rigid (LR) Licence
With a LR Licence, you will be allowed to drive the following:
- Any motor vehicle more than 4.5 tonnes GVM but no more than 8 tonnes GVM.
- Any mini bus vehicle that can seat more than 12 adults (including the driver) but has not more than 8 tonnes GVM.
- Ambulance – The (NSW) Ambulance Service require a LR
Who is this licence for?
This licence is usually required for the following driving roles:
- tour guides
- driver for an airport shuttle
- School teachers
- local sporting, sports and community club driver
Heavy Vehicle Competency Based Assessment (HVCBA) – Light Rigid Course:
Fork N Trucks Training will help you pass tests for this license.
The training can take up to 5-8 hours depending on the individual’s level of experience.we currently have a 99% passing rate for this license.
RMS require a minimum of 5 hours assessment time.
It also comes with a Final Assessment (FCA) which can be completed by our own RMS accredited HVCBA Assessors. The course will focus both on theoretical and practical skills when it comes to driving Light Rigid Vehicles.
As the New South Wales Ambulance service requires this license for their drivers and we understand how important this driving role is. So we make sure that all our students will finish the training highly capable of performing that role.
