HC Upgrade
Heavy Combination Licence – HC
With a Heavy Combination (HC) Licence, you will be able to drive the following :
- A single trailer commonly called a Semi-Trailer, truck and dogs, pig trailers,tag trailers, floats and low loaders.
- Heavy Rigid Vehicles with an attached trailer that has a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) greater than 9,000 kg require this (HC) Licence
Class HC License – Heavy Combination Licence
In order to apply for the Heavy Combination (HC) Licence, you need to have complied with the following:
- At least three (3) years experience with a Car (C class) licence, and
- At least one (1) year experience with Medium Rigid (MR class) licence, or
- At least one(1) year experience with Heavy Rigid (HR class)
Who is this licence for?
This licence is best suited for an experienced truck driver who wants to upgrade their licence.
Since this kind of license involves a heavier vehicle, each truck driver must undergo additional training.
Fork N Trucks Training will help you pass tests for this license. We offer you the following options:
- Constant mesh / Road Ranger license
This course takes between 8 – 18 hours, and we currently have a 98% passing rate for this license.
RMS require a minimum of 6 hours assessment time. - Automatic / Synchromesh manual license
This course takes between 6 – 10 hours, and we currently have a 99% passing rate for this license.
RMS require a minimum of 6 hours assessment time.
Both options will have a thorough discussion about theory and one-on-one training for practical application. We offer this course seven days a week.
It also comes with a final assessment (FCA) that will be conducted by our RMS accredited HVCBA Assessors.
